The Frontiers in Comparative Metrics conference will be held 21-22 November 2008 in Tallinn, and 23 November in Tartu,
Estonia. The organizers of the conference are the Department of
Semiotics and the Chair of Classical Philology at the University
of Tartu and the Department of Cultural Theory at Tallinn University. The language of the conference will be English.
We invite proposals for papers on the following themes:
· Theory of versification and comparative studies in metrics and rhythmics
· Frontiers in Indo-European metrics
· Fenno-Ugric metrics
· Classical heritage and contemporary poetic culture
· Semantics of verse
Other proposals for papers that are related to the themes of the
conference are also welcome.
The estimated time for papers is 30 minutes (20 minutes for
presentation and 10 minutes for discussion).
